In 1935, Victor Houteff formed his own offshoot of the Seventh-day Adventists. The General Association of Davidian Seventh-day Adventists - residing in Waco, Texas - would later go on to be ran by Benjamin Roden, and later David Koresh. Koresh would further divide the group to be ran under the name the Branch Davidians.
The Branch Davidians would go on to gain notoriety from the 1993 Waco siege, where the standoff with federal authorities would lead to many deaths on both side - and the subsequent burning of the Davidian compound.
