  • Richard Ramirez vs. The City of Los Angeles

In 1986, Richard Ramirez’ lawyers compiled a document and presented it to a judge in order to call for a mistrial on the Night Stalker case. They felt as though the media coverage of Ramirez in Los Angeles was skewing the jury and giving a negative image of their client.

As the story goes, the judge immediately dismissed this document and threw it in the trash. Afterwards, a member of the jury took the document from the trash as a souvenir. Later, this document had a small number of copies created and distributed.

Never before published in book form, this document is now being shared as a curiosity and lost piece of history from the Richard Ramirez trial. It compiles courtroom transcripts and a collection of newspaper articles presented as evidence for the mistrial case.
